1. Introduction

Fleetzio Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Truck GPS mobile application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application. Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

  • Location Data: With your permission, we collect real-time GPS location to provide navigation services. This is the core function of the app. Background location is collected during active navigation sessions only.
  • Account Information: Email address, name, and profile data when you create an account.
  • Truck Profile Data: Vehicle dimensions, weight, and configuration data you enter to set up truck profiles. This data stays on your device and our servers for sync purposes only.
  • Usage Data: Anonymous analytics about how you use the app (screens visited, features used, crash reports) to help us improve the product.
  • Route History: Previous routes are stored locally on your device and optionally synced to our servers if you enable cloud sync. This can be disabled or deleted at any time.
  • Payment Information: Subscription payments are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. We do not store your payment card details.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the navigation Service
  • To calculate truck-safe routes based on your vehicle profile
  • To send important app and service notifications
  • To analyze usage patterns and improve our features
  • To respond to customer support requests
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data, location history, or route data to third parties for advertising purposes.

4. Location Data — Special Notice

Location data is the most sensitive data we process. We want to be transparent about exactly how it's used:

  • Foreground location is used to show your position on the map and provide turn-by-turn directions.
  • Background location is used to continue navigation when the app is in the background (e.g., screen off while driving).
  • Location data is processed on-device where possible. Route calculation queries are sent to our servers with only your start/end coordinates — not your continuous location history.
  • If you choose to report a road hazard or clearance issue, your location at the time of the report may be attached to help us verify the data.

5. Data Sharing

We share data with:

  • Service providers: Mapping data providers (HERE Technologies), cloud infrastructure (AWS), analytics (anonymized, aggregated only)
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate data protection commitments

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Route history is retained for 12 months by default and can be deleted at any time from your account settings. Upon account deletion, your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Opt out of certain data processing
  • Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format)

8. Children's Privacy

Truck GPS is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

9. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for data in transit, AES-256 encryption for sensitive data at rest, and regular security audits. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, by sending an in-app notification or email.
